How to Access and Prepare for Your Lab Test
We understand that needing lab work can sometimes be confusing. This guide shows you exactly where to find your order in the app and what to do if the lab asks for information you don't have. Please note, you must meet with your Registered Dietician or have a VMP assigned before you can obtain a lab order from Vida so be sure to schedule a session if you have not already done so.
Finding Your Vida Lab Order in the App
You'll be notified when your lab order is ready. Tap the notification to view instructions on how to find your Vida lab order.
Open Settings: Open the app and go to the Home screen. Tap the gear icon (⚙️) on the top right corner to open your settings page.
Select Documents: Select Documents on the list.
Locate Order: Your lab order will say “Lab Order” followed by your name. Tap to open the document.
Prepare the Order: The lab order is in printable PDF format. We highly recommend printing this order or emailing it to the lab ahead of time. Tap the share icon (↗️) on the top right to choose your preferred method of sending or printing the order.
Taking Your Lab Test and Troubleshooting
With your lab order in hand, the next step would be to schedule your lab test.
- You can schedule your test online at nationwide labcorp.com or questdiagnostics.com.
- Or call a local lab you’ve used before.
If the Lab Requests an Account Number (Not Typical)
Similarly to when your outside primary care provider prescribes you a new medicine or orders labs, the prescriptions and labs go through your medical insurance. The prescriptions and lab tests from Vida will have the same copay as if your outside doctor prescribed them. Please review your policy or call the number on your insurance card to understand your coverage for prescriptions.. If the lab staff insists on an account number or refuses your test, please know this is not a typical request and is usually due to staff misunderstanding. Historically, this is not the case, and we do not even have an account number with the lab. Our orders should be able to be accepted, and most occasions they are.
If this happens:
- Ask for a Manager: Politely request to speak with a manager or supervisor. Explain that your order is a standard Vida Health order and does not require a specific personal account number.
- Contact Support: If the issue is not resolved, please contact our support team immediately so we can help clarify the order with the lab. You can call us at 855-955-2439 or email support@vida.com.
