Group Coaching is a new feature we’re introducing in January 2021. Here is a comprehensive KB that covers all aspects of onboarding and support for this feature.
Group Coaching: 101
Group Coaching is essentially our coaching model but in a group dynamic. Members will have the opportunity to receive guidance, motivation, and support through both their coach and their peers within the group. A group coaching option will be released for Whole Health, Resilience, and Weight Loss at this time.

Group coaching will be offered in addition to the existing 1:1 option to all of our employer pay organizations except Boeing and Prudential. For launch dates please see below.

Visa
The Health Guide web onboarding platform will not support group coaching enrollment for members outside of Humana Health Horizons KY Medicaid.
Therefore, you will NOT be able to enroll such members into group coaching on their behalf using the HG web onboarding platform. Instead, you can walk a member verbally through the onboarding process as they enroll on the mobile app.
Member onboarding will be straightforward except there will be an additional screen after choosing the program, where the member chooses their coaching method.

Technical Background and Backend Support
Overview
A group member will be on 2 different team codes in admin. These teams will be automatically created for the member when they onboard into a group program. The teams are labeled as such:
Care Group: This is the team between the group coach and every member in the care group. There will be 1 coach to many members on this team. When members are on this team, they will see the group chat feed and providers will see the member added to their provider dashboard overview page
Care Group Solo: This is the group between the care group coach and an individual member. There will be 1 coach to 1 member on this team. This team code allows the member to chat 1:1 with the coach. Their program will be attached to this team.
The Care Group team code is visible on the dash to providers on their Care Group Overview screen. Each group member will have their own team code (care group solo) which can be viewed on their 1:1 profile in the dash.
Additional Details
- We cannot add the same member to another Care Group with the same provider. Meaning, if a member wants to be added to another Care Group (we are not offering this right now), they would have to be added to one led by a different provider.
- If we want to have a group member interact with another program’s content, we can add another program to the existing Care Group Solo team.
- If a group member is enrolled in Therapy, they would have the following teams:

- Care Group (with the group coach and every other group member)
- Care Group Solo (with the group coach only)
- Care Team (With the therapist. This team would be attached to the Therapy program).
How to set up Group Coaching in Admin
Program Details
All Program Group members get an activation meeting (dedicated 1:1 initial consultation) with the coach, followed by unlimited 1:1 messaging through the app alongside the group conversation.
